Who is a lithographer and what do they do? The job of a lithographer is the graphic processing of various documents.
What are the activities of the lithographer? Carrying out all types of lithographic work on film – operation of electronic engraving and colour-separating instruments – application of chemical solutions – using characteristic features of typefaces – mixing dyes – carrying out corrections.- They may also work on geographic and other maps with a complicated content, marking shaded terrain and doing detailed finishing of shapes – – they adjust and operate measuring and testing instruments and other working aids.
Where is it done and under what conditions? In an environment that includes regular contact with dyes and other chemicals.
What tools/equipment do they use? Pens, brushes, scrapers, rulers, engraving instruments, measuring and testing instruments, magnifying and copying instruments and devices.
What do you need to succeed? You need vocational training, manual skills, exactness, aesthetic sensitivity, patience, good eyesight and colour sense.
