What are the activities of the marketing manager? Work activities include – market surveys and their analysis, evaluation of developments and trends in the market, marketing studies – surveys and analysis of customer satisfaction – monitoring competition – defining groups of prospective goods and services – setting prices appropriate for success on the market – defining prospective buyers and markets – immediately drawing the attention of the company’s management to any failure on the market and to the need for change arising from that – elaborating proposals for the production, operational, business and economic focus of the company in relation to the market situation and in line with the technological and financial means of the company – compiling complex marketing plans – putting together advertising campaign plans – ensuring the company’s participation in exhibitions and trade fairs, and attending them – keeping detailed records of customers and potential customers – and ensuring contact with them – drawing the management’s attention to the need to take part in certain professional and social events – co-operating with other sections of the company, primarily with the production and accounts sections – co-operating with advertising agencies and marketing survey agencies, using their services.
Where is it done and under what conditions? In offices and similar spaces, where the work environment will usually be without problems.

What do you need to succeed? You need university, higher specialised or complete specialised secondary education with a school-leaving certificate, economic or professional, relevant to the particular field of production (e.g., engineering, electronics, food production, the clothing industry, chemicals, etc.), the ability to work systematically, organisational skills, business sense, creativity, ability to deal with people.
