The Human Rights Court has dismissed an application filed by the embattled second Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Sammy Crabbe challenging the constitutionality of his suspension by the party.

The Court presided over by Court of Appeal Judge, sitting with additional responsibility as a High Court Judge, Justice Dennis Adjei said Mr. Crabbe’s refusal to appear before the disciplinary committee after they invited him constitutes a waiver of his right to a fair hearing and the rules of natural justice.

The court therefore said the application fails in its entirety and same is dismissed.

Crabbe sued the party for indefinitely suspending him in January this year.

Mr. Crabbe, who is perceived as an ally to the suspended National Chairman, Paul Afoko, was suspended after he refused to appear before the disciplinary committee after several invitations.

He was also been accused of disrespecting party decisions in support of Afoko.
