Opens and locks up the school buildings, cleans up the outdoor areas of the school premises, attends to the school heating system, does maintenance or basic repairs on the school fixtures and fittings and commissions outside contractors for larger repairs. Carries some responsibility for ensuring security of the school buildings, property and premises
Where is it done and under what conditions? On the school premises. At times the caretaker may live on the premises or close at hand.
What tools/equipment do they use? Hand craft tools, a central heating boiler, sets of keys etc.
