Supervising operations, observing the relevant regulations and critical levels, handling fuel elements in the reactor block, working with radiation sources, correcting failures, if any, performing and evaluating physical and power-generation start-ups, taking responsibility for seeing that radiation protection requirements are observed.
Where is it done and under what conditions? In nuclear plants so certain special kinds of risk are involved. Shift working is normal.
What tools/equipment do they use? Control panels, automated, control and computer equipment and instrumentation.
What do you need to succeed? You need a university degree with the specialisation in nuclear energy or other relevant university degrees, plus other training to prepare for work in nuclear plants. In addition, you should have the ability to concentrate, fast reactions and judgement and technical understanding.
