Who is an auto-electrician and what do they do? An auto-electrician installs, adjusts and repairs electrical and electronic parts in motor vehicles.
What are the activities of an auto-electrician? Installs adjusts and repairs, e.g. direct-current generators, alternators, starters, fuel pumps and voltage regulators. S/he also identifies defects in electronic control systems and replaces the defective elements and components with new ones. S/he works with electronic components and circuits, measures different electric variables.
Where is it done and under what conditions? At service stations, garages, smaller as well as bigger workshops and outdoors where the working environment can involve grease, dirt and sometimes objects of work that are hard to get at.
What tools/equipment do they use? Hand tools and instruments, e.g. screwdrivers, measuring and diagnostic appliances including computers.
What do you need to succeed? You need training, manual skills, technical thinking and precision.
