Who is a circus artiste and what do they do? The circus artiste is a person who does various acrobatic performances.
What are the activities of the circus artiste? These performances can be either solo, with a partner or with animals (for example horseback riding). Some performances are carried out on acrobatic apparatus, often at a height. Other performances are carried out on the ground with various aids (for example, juggling). All is based on high levels of physical skill from the artiste, often also on good coordination of the partners. The artiste sometimes thinks up his/her own performances, and he/she studies and adapts it for a long time.
Where is it done and under what conditions? In circus and variety show environments, working outside normal working hours, at heights, and with some risk of personal injury.
What tools/equipment do they use? For example a trapeze, ropes, nets, aids for juggling, fire, chairs and various stands, etc.
What do you need to succeed? You need to have extraordinary physical fitness and agility.
