postmaster or postmistress job

Who is a postmaster or postmistress and what do they do? The postmaster/mistress is responsible for management and supervision of all activities of the post office supervised by him/her, its departments and employees.
What are the activities of the postmaster or postmistress job? He/she decides how to solve current work problems. A postmaster/mistress processes records and reports for the higher post office authorities. At some post offices (usually the smaller ones), the postmaster/mistress him/herself does the more difficult activities at the counter.

What tools/equipment do they use? Information technology and other office supplies, the cash register, stamps and other aids as required at the respective counter.
What do you need to succeed? You need to have completed secondary education, good communication skills, organisational skills, ability to command respect, a systematic approach to work and arithmetic skills.
