Who is a stove fitter and what do they do? Stove fitter erect, change, adjust and repair kitchen ranges, stoves, fire places, and hot water geysers.
What are the activities of the job? They both install, and later check the installation and the flue; they may change, adjust and repair it. They may also erect or reconstruct heritage glazed tile stoves.
Where is it done and under what conditions? Mainly in private houses, but sometimes in historic buildings etc.
What tools/equipment do they use? Manual craft tools and artisan equipment, measuring equipment and a basic set of bricklayer’s tools.
What do you need to succeed? You need vocational training, manual dexterity and some aesthetic sense.
