Who is a butler and what do they do? The butler is in charge of managing and organising the work of the servants and staff in a large household.

Checks the standards of cleaning and efficiency in the work done by other staff; employs and trains the personnel; may be in charge of the purchase and distribution of the provisions and articles of domestic use and control the expenses of the household; may also prepare and serve meals and clean and carry out other domestic tasks.
Where is it done and under what conditions? Mainly indoors in a private house.
What tools/equipment do the butler use? Cleaning products, floor cloths, trays, corkscrew, documents relating to the running of the household,
What do you need to succeed? You need a medium level of education but must have very a good understanding of etiquette. There are specific courses for butlers, but it may be more common in some countries to take courses related to hotel management, public relations, and etiquette.
