About Anglican University College of Technology

The Anglican University College of Technology (ANG.U.TECH), owned by the Anglican Communion in Ghana, was founded in 2008. ANG.U.TECH’s aim is to train high level science and technology human resources in a holistic manner, to conduct innovative research and provide extension services for the country. The University College, structured as a multi-campus university will provide economically viable programmes in contributing to the unemployment situation in the country through strategically situating campuses that would transform young potential of the nation as well as the communities in which they are situated. ANG.U.TECH is an institution with a Christian character but caters for all students, irrespective of their backgrounds and religious affiliation.
On 29th March, 2008, the University College was inaugurated at the Cathedral Church of Saint Cyprian in Kumasi under the distinguished patronage of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the then President of Ghana, His Excellency John Agyekum Kufour amongst other faithfuls of the Anglican Communion in Ghana. The first President of the University College, Prof. Marian Ewurama Addy, was officially inducted into office at this event following her appointment in January 2008. An international launch followed in July the same year, at the University of Kent as a side event during the Lambeth Conference in Canterbury, United Kingdom.
The University College is affiliated to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The first College of the University, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, located at Nkoranza in the Brong-Ahafo Region was inaugurated on 25th October 2013 to pave way for admission of the first batch of students.
The College currently runs programmes in BSc. General Agriculture, B.Sc. Community Medicine and Health, B.Sc. Health Information Management and B.Sc. Development and Management Studies. Other programmes to be mounted soon include B.Sc. General Nursing, Diploma in Midwifery, Certificate in Health Assistant Clinicals as well as Education related programmes.
The Chancellor of the University College is Most Rev. Prof. Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Primate and Metropolitan Archbishop of the Church of the Province of West Africa(CPWA), (Anglican Communion) and Archbishop of the Internal Province of Ghana. He is also the Bishop of the Diocese of Kumasi. The Council is under the leadership of Mr. Daniel Owiredu. The management is also led by the President, Prof. Albert A. Addo-Quaye supported by highly experienced staff.
