Dr Dennis Danso Kumi is one of the valedictorians of the July 2015 congregation of the University of Ghana. He is graduating Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the School of Medicine and Dentistry with a final grade point average of 4.0 making him the best graduating student of the University of Ghana.
He was a former student of Achimota School in Accra before gaining admission to the university in 2008. He was admitted into the bachelor of science programme in 2008 and subsequently into the University of Ghana Medical School in 2009 after hitting a grade point average of 4.0 in his first year as a Biological Science student which he maintained all through to his final year.
Throughout his years as a student, Dennis Danso Kumi picked up a number of academic awards as a result of his brilliant performance and deep knowledge and control over medical issues. He picked up 8 out of the 9 awards in Basic and Preclinical science courses in June 2011. He was awarded the best performing young doctor on a number of occasions. Dennis Danso Kumi again distinguished himself in the clinical year and picked up several academic awards in Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Surgery, Clinical Pharmacology, Medicine and Therapeutics in February 2015. He also emerged as the best student in the part I and Part II examinations.
Dennis Danso Kumi aspires to be a renowned surgeon and researcher in the near future and with his mental faculty and readiness to learn, he promises to be one of the best surgeon and medical researchers Ghana and Africa will boast of.
He is very passionate on making a difference and he always strives to discover something new. Even as a students, he is conducting a number of researches into medical health issues and stated that, he aspires to be one of the best medical researchers in the world.
