Who is bibliographer and what do they do? The bibliographer produces catalogues of libraries or their parts. The job may also be known as a cataloguer, or the work may be part of a more general librarian’s role, particularly in smaller libraries.
What are the activities of the bibliographer? Compiles lists of books, articles, films and tapes etc, on specialised subjects. Makes extracts of each document for card indexes and catalogues. May recommend new items be acquired for special subject areas..
Where is it done and under what conditions? In libraries and at information desks.
What tools/equipment do they use? Information technology and office equipment.
What do you need to succeed? You need university education, systematic work habits, and concentration.
