Who is a geomechanic technician and what do they do? A geomechanic technician (mining) is a worker who takes part in designing mining activities with an eye to achieving protection against earth tremors and other similar geomechanical phenomena.

What are the activities of the geomechanic technician?
She/he proposes necessary preventive measures and activities to ensure protection against these phenomena and s/he also checks if such prevention is carried out.
Where is it done and under what conditions? In underground and opencast mines. A dusty, polluted and noisy environment, as well as shift work, must be expected.
What tools/equipment do they use? Computers and other office equipment, meters.
What do you need to succeed? You need to have completed secondary, higher secondary or university-level education, have the ability to work systematically, and technical aptitude.
