Applications are invited from qualified candidates for Bolgatanga Polytechnic Admission Forms 2017 purchase and admission to the following programmes for the 2017/2018 Academic Year:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS – Bolgatanga Polytechnic Admission Forms 2017
Tertiary Programmes
A. Bachelor of Technology in Accounting with Computing
a) Holders of HND Accountancy Certificate with a minimum of two (2) years working experience or
b) ACCA and ICA holders with passes in seven (7) or more subjects.
B. HND Programmes
a) DIRECT APPLICANTS
i. SSSCE/WASSCE/ABCE/GBCE APPLICANTS
SSSCE/WASSCE/ABCE/GBCE Certificates with credits in five subjects comprising three (3) core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Science/Social Studies) plus two (2) relevant elective subjects. The aggregate of the five subjects should not exceed twenty (20) for SSSCE applicants and thirty (30) for WASSCE applicants.
ii. TECHNICAL/VOCATIONAL/BUSINESS/COMMERCIAL CERTIFICATE APPLICANTS
Diploma in Business Studies (DBS), Diploma in Computerized Accounting (DCA), Diploma in Banking Technology & Accounting (DBTA), Diploma in Business Administration (DBA).
RSA II/III, MET I/II, MVT I/II, EET I/II, GCC/CTC I/II or CTC I & II, OTDF Certificate, Advanced B/C Craft Certificate, Institutional Management or City & Guilds Part I & II (812/1, 812/2) or Stenographer Certificate plus four SSSCE/WASSCE credits including English Language and Mathematics.
iii. GCE ‘A’ Level Applicants
Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level Credits (including English Language and Mathematics) or its equivalent plus two (2) ‘A’ Level passes excluding General Paper.
iv. Teacher Applicants (Four-Year Cert. ‘A’ or Post-Sec. Teachers’ Certificate)
1. ENGINEERING PROGRAMMES (APPLICANTS SHOULD HAVE SCIENCE BACKGROUND);
- Civil Engineering
- Agricultural Engineering
- Building Technology
Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level credits including English and Mathematics and two (2) Science subjects or five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE credit passes including English Language and Mathematics and two (2) elective science subjects
2. BUSINESS PROGRAMMES;
- Accountancy
- Marketing
- Secretaryship and Management Studies
- Procurement and Logistics Management
Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics or five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE credit passes including English Language and Mathematics.
3. SCIENCE PROGRAMMES;
- Hotel, Catering And Institutional Management Programme
- Statistics
- Industrial Art
- Ecological Agric.
Five (5) GCE ‘O’ level credits including English Language, Science and Mathematics or five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE credit passes including English and Mathematics.
b). MATURE APPLICANTS
- Must be 25 years old and above and should enclose a Birth Certificate/Baptismal Card.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ working experience (letter from the employer is required) and
- Pass a written Examination and an interview conducted by Bolgatanga Polytechnic.
- Must have at least four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE/ABCE/GBCE passes or four (4) GCE ‘O’ Level credits including English Language and Mathematics
ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR MATURE CANDIDATES
Entrance Examinations for mature candidates would be communicated to qualified applicants. All candidates MUST pass the entrance examination in Mathematics and English Language.
B. NON-TERTIARY PROGRAMMES
a) DIPLOMA IN BANKING TECHNOLOGY & ACCOUNTING (EVENING SCHOOL). DURATION OF COURSE
The total duration for the Diploma in Accounting & Banking Technology is two years (Four Semesters). All Students who pass all courses with a CGPA of at least 1.5 at the end of the second year qualify to be awarded a Diploma in Banking Technology.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
Five Passes including English and Core Mathematics
- O’LEVEL/GBCE/‘A’LEVEL/ABCE APPLICANTS
- Five passes including English Language and Mathematics
MATURE APPLICANT
i. Must be 25 years and above
ii. Must provide documentary evidence of relevant work experience
iii. Must pass a Departmental examination and interview
b) DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (DBA) (EVENING SCHOOL)DURATION OF PROGRAMME
Two years (4 Semesters)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- SSSCE aggregate 24 or better with passes in English Language and Mathematics
- WASSCE aggregate 36 or better with passes in English Language and Mathematics.
- General Business Certificate Examination (formerly RSA II) with passes in English Language and Mathematics.
MATURE APPLICANTS
i. Must be at least 25 years old
ii. Must pass an entrance examination and a selection interview
c) DIPLOMA IN COMPUTERIZED ACCOUNTING (EVENING SCHOOL)DURATION OF COURSE
The total duration for the Diploma in Computerized Accounting is two years (four Semesters). All Students who pass all courses with a CGPA of at least 1.5 at the end of the second year qualify to be awarded a Diploma in Computerized Accounting.
Students who obtain a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.0 will have the option to progress to the third year to do one more year for the Professional Diploma in Computerized Accounting.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
Five Passes including English and Core Mathematics
O’LEVEL/GBCE AND A’LEVEL/ABCE APPLICANTS
Four passes in O’ Level/GBCE including English Language and Mathematics
MATURE APPLICANTS
i. Must be 25 years and above
ii. Must provide documentary evidence of relevant work experience
iii. Must pass a Departmental examination and interview
d). DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS STUDIES(DBS) PROGRAMMES
i. Accounting option;
ii. Secretarial option;
iii. Management option and
iv. Marketing option
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
i. Five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level credit/passes including English Language and Mathematics
ii. Ghana Commercial Examination Stage II (formerly RSA II) with passes in four (4) subjects including Mathematics
and English Language
iii. Four SSSCE/WASSCE passes comprising two core subjects (Mathematics and English Language) and two (2) relevant
elective subjects.
e). ADVANCED FASHION AND DESIGN
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
i. Holders of City and Guilds Certificates in Fashion and Design (Dressmaking and Tailoring)
OR
ii. Intermediate/Certificate II Dressmaking/Fashion Certificate plus at least one (1) year relevant practical experience.
OR
iii. Four (4) passes in SSSCE/WASSCE subjects including English Language, Mathematics and any other elective subject plus basic knowledge and skills in Dressmaking
OR
iv. Four (4) GCE ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics plus knowledge in Dressmaking
OR
v. NVTI Grade II and Grade I Certificates
f). ADVANCED COOKERY/CATERING
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
i. A pass in Basic Cookery (812/1) or City and Guilds (706/2) and a minimum of one (1) year working experience. ii. Intermediate Cookery/Certificate II Cookery
iii. Passes in relevant SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/GCE ‘O’ Level subjects
iv. NVTI Grade II with working experience.
ACCESS PROGRAMME FOR TECHNICAL/VOCATIONAL SCHOOL GRADUATES
The Access Course for technical and vocational school graduates has been designed to offer students the opportunity to pursue a one-year (i.e. two semesters of sixteen (16) weeks each) Access Course in English Language, Mathematics and Science. The final Examination will be conducted by the National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations (NABPTEX) after which successful candidates will be qualified to enroll into some specific HND programmes in any of the Polytechnics in Ghana. A minimum of 50% pass in each of the three subjects is required for qualification into the HND programme.
The following HND programmes are available in Bolgatanga Polytechnic for successful candidates:
- HND Hotel, Catering & Institutional Management
- HND Industrial Art
- HND Civil Engineering
- HND Agricultural Engineering
- HND General Agriculture (Ecological)
- HND Building Technology
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
- Applicants should possess a minimum qualification of Intermediate Certificate or its equivalent in the relevant areas of study. (Catering 811/2, CTC II; MVT II & III and MET II & III or its equivalent) In the case of SSSCE/WASSCE Science applicants for Access course, they must have passes in three (3) subjects comprising at least one (1) core subject plus at least one (1) science elective subject and any other science related subject.
NOTE: Only technical and vocational school and SSSCE/WASSCE Science graduates are qualified to apply for the Access Course.

Completed application forms together with two (2) photocopies each, of certificates or result slips and testimonials, with two (2) recent passport size photographs should be sent to the following address not later than 7TH August, 2017:

COMPLETING THE HND APPLICATION FORM
Please, read the following instructions carefully before completing the application form;
- Go to https://admissions.bpoly.edu.gh on the internet after you purchase the e-voucher;
- Log on to the Online Admissions System with the e-voucher Application Number and PIN;
- Complete the form in BLOCK LETTERS only;
- Follow steps on the Online Admissions system to complete your application;
- A printed copy of your completed online application forms and photocopies of Certificates or Results slips must be enclosed in your envelope before posting;
- Completed forms together with two (2) photocopies of each of your certificates or result slips should be sent by post to the Registrar, Bolgatanga Polytechnic, P. O. Box 767, Bolgatanga, Ghana, not later than August 7, 2017;
- An Envelope Number generated for you on completion of the online application must be written at the back of the envelope before posting;
- Mature applicants must write “MATURE” at the top right corner of the front page of the form;
- In the case of HND Accountancy, HND Secretaryship & Management Studies, HND Procurement & Logistics Management and HND Marketing, indicate whether you want full-time or part-time;
- Attach two (2) passport size photographs with red background.
- All mature applicants should attach a copy of their birth certificate or Baptismal Certificate.
