Closing Date for Tamale Technical University 2017/2018 Admissions

The Closing Date for Tamale Technical University 2017/2018 Admissions is the 31st of October, 2017.  Sale of forms will close by Tuesday, October 31, 2017 which means that is the deadline for the submission of the application forms.

Entry Requirements

  1. HND certificate, University diploma, post-graduate, or professional certificate in relevant field, plus two (2) years working experience in a related industry.
  2. Level ii or higher of ACCA, ICAG, CIMA or its equivalents for Accounting with Computing only
  • Advanced Diploma in Computerized Accounting or its equivalents from a recognized institution
  1. Any NAB accredited (non-Accounting) degree (The applicant will have to pass an interview to be considered)

Entry Requirements for Arts and Business (Direct Entry)

  1. WASSCE Candidates: Six (6) passes (A1 – D7) in all subjects including English Language and Core Mathematics; three of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialization with minimum grades of C6.
  2. SSSCE/GBCE/RSA II Candidates: Six (6) passes (A – D) in all subjects including English

Language and Core Mathematics; three of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialization.

DBS, ABCE/ or RSA III certificate plus four WASSCE passes (A1-D7) or four SSSCE, GBCE              or RSA II passes (A-D) including English Language and Mathematics.

  1. GCE Advanced Level applicants: Passes in three (3) relevant subjects and five (5)

credit passes in GCE ‘O’ Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

Entry Requirements for Science and Technology Programmes (Direct Entry)

  1. SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants: Six (6) passes (A – D/A1 – D7) in all subjects including English Language and Core Mathematics; three of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialization with minimum grades of C6.
  2. GCE Advanced Level Candidates: Passes in three (3) relevant subjects and five (5) credit passes in five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
  3. Technical School (Certificate II) Applicants (NABPTEX &TEU): Applicants must have Six (6) passes (A-E) in all subjects including English Language and Core Mathematics; three of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialization.
  • Technician Applicants: Technician certificates (Part I and Part II) or a pass in Ordinary Technician Diploma plus four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes (A – D/A1 – D7) including English Language and Core Mathematics.
  1. Access Applicants: Passes in English language, Mathematics and Science organized by NABPTEX, plus Technician certificate or SSSCE/WASSCE passes in one (1) core subject, one (1) science elective subject and any other science subject.

Other Entry Requirements
Certificate or Diploma holders from recognized higher institutions are eligible to apply for any related HND programme. However, such Diplomas/Certificates must be included in the National Accreditation Board’s (NAB) database of recognized credentials.
General Entry Requirements for Mature HND Applicants:
Applicants who have evidence of completing school at Advance or Technical programmes, GCE ‘O’ Level, GCE “A” Level, ABC, RSA, Stenographer, WASSCE/SSSCE, Teachers certificate or any recognized education and obtained the age of 25 years and above but have not met the above stated requirements are eligible to apply as mature candidates. In addition, such applicants:

  1. Must pass a written examination and an interview to be conducted by the University.
  2. Must provide evidence of at least two (2) years’ work experience.
  • Must provide a Birth Certificate at the interview.

The programme offers opportunity for the business certificate II holders to progress to the Universities to pursue HND programme in the business areas.

          PROGRAMMES – EVENING SESSIONS
ABMA Education is a professional Diploma award recognized by National Accreditation Board (NAB) – Ghana as equivalent to HND at Diploma level six (6).  Over 60,000 ABMA examinations are conducted every year worldwide. Applicants have the opportunity now to pursue ABMA programmes at Tamale Technical University in the following areas:

The ABMA programmes are available at level 4 Diploma, level 5 Diploma and level 6 Diploma.

  1. Five (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English Language, Mathematics and Technical Drawing.
  2. Technicians Construction Option Subjects; Craft (B/C, C/J, P/D Plumbing) or Advanced (B/C and C/J)

(2)       MET – 1

  1. Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English language, Mathematics and Integrated Science.
  2. Technical Option Subjects; Engineering Intermediate Craft, General Engineering (GE), Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice (MECP).

(3)       MVT – 1

  1. Four (4) SSSCE passes including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science.
  2. Technical Option Subjects, Motor Vehicle Mechanics works (MVM), Intermediate General Engineering (GE)

(4)       EET – 1 and Radio TV & Electronics Part I

  1. Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and any two of the following – Applied Electricity/Electronics, Physics, Mathematics.
  2. Electrical Installation work course C.
  3. Electrical Installation Work course B or Electrical Installation Craft practice.

The Pre- HND or Access Course (English Language, Mathematics and Science) is organized by National Board for Professional and Technician Exams (NABPTEX) to foster enrolment into the following programmes:
