Who is a concrete worker and what do they do? The concreter makes and lays concrete foundations and structures, including reinforced concrete units.
What are the activities of the concrete worker? Concreting building structures and the foundations for them with plain concrete – making concrete paving for roads and pavements – making structures from reinforced concrete such as bridge beams, producing construction parts by compacting concrete mixture – concreting thin wall structures – application of concrete screed – making road surfaces from various types of materials (such as clinker concrete) – installing concrete saddles under water piping and sewage pipes – repairing existing concrete structures.
Where is it done and under what conditions? On all kinds of sites and including work at a height, high noise levels, dust and changeable weather conditions.
What tools/equipment do they use? A variety of machines such as concrete mixers, vibrators, hand tools for masons, tools and equipment for manual work.
What do you need to succeed? You need apprentice training, physical fitness, practical skills, teamwork skills.
