Who is a dispatcher and what do they do? The dispatcher is a utility worker responsible for electricity supplies for consumers in the relevant region and for the whole of the operation of the electricity grid within this area. They may have broader managerial responsibilities as well.
What are the activities of the dispatcher? He/she follows the operating information from the power plant and organises, if necessary, remedial action in case of failures. S/he monitors the control board showing the condition of lines and equipment, making adjustments, or getting other workers to do so, if necessary.
