Who are they and what do they do? A musician interprets musical compositions by means of a particular musical instrument. The genre of compositions depends on his/her orientation, e.g. classic music, pop, rock, country, folk music, etc. A classical musician may also become a composer, or orchestral conductor.
What are the activities of the musician job? He/she can be a soloist, a member of a trio, quartet, etc., a member of a band or an orchestra. A member of a group or band can be a singer at the same time. Apart from interpretation, the activities of the job involve rehearsing the musical pieces together with fellow-players or with the whole orchestra. The interpretation can take place at concerts, parties or clubs, at a recording studio to make CDs and other recordings. A musician can also compose or conduct his/her own music.
Where is it done and under what conditions? In concert halls, music halls, theatres, stadiums, clubs etc.
Work outside normal working hours must be expected.
