Physiology
Physiology focuses on how the human body works, and is one of the disciplines that constitute Cycle I of the medical school curriculum. The physiology curriculum is designed to provide a firm scientific foundation of knowledge upon which students can expand on, to enhance their understanding of clinical medicine during Cycle II. Relevant principles and concepts are taught using a combination of theoretical presentations, tutorials, and practical sessions in an environment that emphasizes student-centered learning. Recent developments in the discipline are also highlighted.
Learning activity in physiology is supported by a series of practical sessions designed to provide students with opportunities to collect and analyze data related to the body’s functions. A well-equipped, state-of-the art laboratory and the Clinical Skills Laboratory of the School provide the necessary facilities for these hands-on- experiences by students.
