Professor Mawutor Avoke has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor (V.C) of the University of Education Winneba (UEW).
Notice of his appointment was contained in a press statement issued from teh Office of the Registrar of the University.
According to the statement, the decision was arrived at during a special meeting on the Council held at Winneba on July 30.
Professor Avoke is expected to assume office effective October 1, 2015 after the current Vice Chancellor, Prof. Akwasi Asabere Ameyaw’s tenure of office ends on September 30.
Mr. Viscount Buernortey Buer has also been appointed as the new Librarian for the University and his appointment takes effect from October 1.

At a special meeting of the Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba, held on July 30, 2015, the Council appointed Professor Mawutor Avoke as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba with effect from October 1, 2015.
Professor Avoke takes over from Professor Akwasi Asabere-Ameyaw whose tenure of office ends on September 30, 2015.
The council further appointed Mr. Viscount Buernortey Buer as the new University Librarian with effect from October 1, 2015
