Below are the requirements for the courses at Sekondi Nurses & Midwifery Training College
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR POST BASIC PROGAMMES
• 3 years post rotation for Peri Operative / Critical Care Nursing, Ophthalmic, Ear Nose and Throat
• 3 year post rotation for Medical Assistants
• Public Health Nursing (PHN) candidates should have at least one year practice experience in midwifery
• Age should not be more than 50years, subject to medical fitness
FOREIGN STUDENTS
Foreign students may be admitted on the basis of qualification from their home country for which the West African Examination Council shall determine equivalences. Evidence of proficiency in English speaking countries. Foreign students will not enjoy government of Ghana scholarship. Foreign students may contact the Ministry of Health for fees for the various programmes.

• Age: 18 – 35 years
• Aggregate: SSS/ WASSS certificate with an aggregate score of twenty –four (24) or better in six subjects comprising (3 core and 3 elective)
• Core Subjects and minimum grades: (A1 C6 in WASSCE) or A-D in SSCE) in all 3 core subjects i. e. English , Mathematics and Integrated Science
• Elective Subjects and minimum grades: for Diploma Programmes: At least Passes i.e. (A1- E8 in WASSCE) or A-E in SSCE) in 3 subjects in any of the following:
• Direct Diploma in community Medicine (Medical Assistants)
• Age: 18-35
• Aggregate: SSS/ WASSS certificate with an aggregate score of twenty –four (24) or better in six subjects comprising (3 core and 3 electives in Pure Science)
• Core Subjects and minimum grades: (A1 C6 in WASSCE) or A-D in SSCE) in all 3 core subjects i. e. English , Mathematics and Integrated Science
• Elective Subjects and minimum grades: At least 3 passes in any three elective subjects (A1-E8 WASSCE) or (A-E in SSCE) in 3 elective subjects in any of the following:
a. Elective Mathematics
b. Biology
c. Physics
d. Chemistry

• Core Subjects and minimum grades: At least passes in three core subjects, i.e English , Mathematics and Integrated Science
• Elective Subjects and minimum grades: At least 3 passes in any three elective subjects (A1-E8 WASSCE) or (A-E in SSCE)
