About 300,000 teachers in Ghana are working without Conditions of Service, EducationGhana can confirm.
Its interesting to note that teachers in the Ghana Education Service had their conditions of service expired since 2010 ,of which teacher unions are sitting either unconcerned or may have fought for it but the Ghanaian politician will have no interest in their plea.
In Ghana,teachers who are being posted directly from the various Colleges of Education or being recruited do not necessarily find out from their employers as to their conditions of service due to their eagerness to get employed in this choked sector.
Since 2010,the Ghanaian teacher has been working waiting for his reward in Heaven, a reason why the profession isn’t getting the needed recognition.
The President of the Coalition of Concerned Teachers-Ghana, King Ali Awudu also emphasized on this predicament during the delivery of his fraternal message at the 22nd Annual General Assembly of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana,held at the St Ambrose College of Education over the weekend.
It is prudent for all stakeholders in the Education Sector to push for the Conditions of Service of the Ghanaian Teacher to be reviewed as a matter of urgency.
