Who is a standards engineer and what do they do? The standards engineer is a worker who monitors the development of technical standards and norms and is responsible for ensuring that the relevant company or group of companies uses correct and approved ones.
What are the activities of the standards engineer job? He/she files the standards into catalogues and deletes the ones no longer valid. He/she is also responsible for creation of norms and internal standards only for specific in-house use. This may be a purely clerical task but if the job is truly that of an engineer the work will include establishing the standards and technical parameters for items, processes and designs etc, and evaluating data from a range of sources as well as preparing specifications and reviewing the standards set from time to time.
Where is it done and under what conditions? Usually in normal offices but sometimes also in workshops and industrial plants, which can get noisy at times.

What do you need to succeed? You need to have completed a college degree, have the ability to work systematically as well as technical understanding.
