The travel agency clerk Prepares and organises domestic and foreign tour packages, taking care of their financial and technical side – following any developments in the travel and tourism industry, the weather and the political situation in places which are, or may become, the destinations of tour packages – gaining information about the availability, price and suitability of various types of transport and accommodation domestically and abroad – negotiating with hotels, insurance companies, transport providers, and other domestic and foreign organisations whose work is relevant to tour packages – dealing with partner travel agencies abroad which take care of some aspects of a stay in their country and of the programme of tours – learning about the interests and demands of customers, including advising in this field – providing information about package holidays, the programme, prices, styles of accommodation, food and transport, etc. – sale of travel packages or other services provided to customers by the travel agency and settling their prices – elaborating detailed travel and holiday programmes and sending them to clients who have signed up for them and are expecting more detailed information – getting the documents necessary for people on the tour, e.g., insurance cards, entry visas, etc., checking whether various travel documents are filled out properly – processing customers’ complaints concerning the services provided by the travel agency.
