The University of Ghana is the 12th top University in Africa out of a list of 30 top Universities on the continent according to Times Higher Education and measures research impact.
Institutions from 10 African countries feature in the list.
South Africa dominates the list, constituting two-fifths of the number. They are followed closely with Egypt which has six Universities represented.
Placing number one of the list is University of Cape Town, followed by University of the Witwatersrand and Makerere University before Stellenbosch University.
The University of Ghana, the only Ghanaian University in the list is followed by University of South Africa.
