WAEC RELEASES 2016 WASSCE RESULTS

The West African Examination Council has released the provisional results of the 2016 West African Senior School Certificate Examination ( 2016 WASSCE results ).
According to a statement signed and issued in Accra by the public relations manager of WAEC –  Agnes Teye-Cudjor on the 8th of August 2016, the 2016 WASSCE results is slightly better than that of the previous year in terms of general performance and security.
According to her, a total of 1,576 candidates had their WASSCE results cancelled in various subjects.
598 candidates had their entire results cancelled. This means all the papers sat for by these candidates have been cancelled.
13 candidates had their entire results cancelled for various examination offenses and further banned from sitting for any examination conducted by West African Examination Council (WAEC) for the next 2 years.
The entire 2016 WASSCE results of 85 schools are however withheld for various acts of mass cheating pending the conclusion of investigation.
In explanation, the public relations manager of the West African Examination Council madam Agnes Teye-Cudjor stated that, a total of 125,065 candidates have obtained grade A1 – C6 in English language. This figure represented 53.19% of the total.
77,108 candidates representing 32.83% of the total obtained A1 – C6 in Mathematics.
A total of 113,933 candidates representing 48.48% had A1 – C6 in Integrated Science.
Social studies recorded the highest passes with 129,058 candidates obtained grade A1 – C6.
