Who are they and what do they do? The task of a weir and dam operator is to operate, maintain and repair the equipment of river dams, locks and weirs.

He/she observes the quality of water in reservoirs and tributaries, controls the hygiene protection zones, makes different measurements and surveys and keeps records of the results.
