Girl Shot The victim

A 10-year-old pupil of Humble Way Mission School at Lorminava, Sowotuom in the Greater Accra region, Dorothy Appiah has been shot by some police officers.

The girl who was heading home Tuesday afternoon with her friends was accidentally shot by police officers who were in a shootout with some armed robbers.

She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital at Sowotuom by the assistance of some residents and school authorities.

She was later transferred to the 37 Military Hospital as her condition became very critical.

Adom News’ Darius Okyere, who visited the hospital, reported that doctors were preparing to transfer the victim to the Children’s ward.

He said doctors say there are bullets in her skull thus would need an operation in the head to save her life.

Darius Okyere indicated that, the police who showed up at the hospital moments after the incident has since not showed up.

Uncle of the victim, Kwabena Owusu, who expressed worry about the girl’s condition.

“My niece is still unstable, and we are very worried as a family, and so we want the Accra Central, CID Department of the police to come out and make sure that justice is done because we want to know who shot her,” he said.
