‘O’ Level
Grade 6 or better in 5 GCE ‘O’ level subjects including: English, Math, and Science (Arts students) and an Arts subject for Science students.
‘A’ Level

  • Passes in 3 subjects
  • One of the passes should be Grade D or better

EXTERNAL ‘O’ AND ‘A’ LEVELS
Candidates can submit recent ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels from outside the WAEC jurisdiction

  • But check the accreditation of the body offering the certificate

    • Minimum Age: 27 years at the time of writing the Mature Entrance Exam

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
    Candidate must:

    • Show proof of age with a legitimate document that is at least 5 years old
    • Provide introductory letter from employer
    • Show any proof of employment

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA
MATURE HND
HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA

  • First Class HND can enter at Level 300 IF they are pursuing the same programme
  • A First Class HND holder should start from Level 200 if s/he is changing programme
  • Second Upper and Lower should start form Level 200 irrespective of whether they are pursuing same programme or not

DIPLOMA HOLDERS

  • Diploma holders with FGPA of 3.0 or better from an institution whose diploma progamme has been accredited by the NBA or from a foreign institution that is recognized by the NAB can be considered.
  •   Diploma holders with FGPA of 3.6 and above can enter at Level 300 IF they are pursuing the same programme
  • Diploma holders with FGPA of 3.6 should start from Level 200 if they are
    • changing programmes
    • Diploma holders with FGPA of between 3.0 and 3.59 should start from Level 200 irrespective of whether they are pursuing same programme or changing programmes.
    • Diploma holders who entered their diploma programmes as mature students must show evidence of passes in English and Mathematics from GCE ‘O’ Level, SSSCE, or WASSCE
    • In the absence of these, they must show evidence that the Mature Student Entrance examination they took before entering the diploma programme including papers in English and MathematicsDBS
      • DBS is not accepted as entry requirement by the University College
