Answered: Will government recruits basic school teachers this year?

The Ministry of Education has gave the Ghana Education Service the approval to advertise vacancies for teachers for all second-cycle institutions as well as basic schools across the country in January 2016

This was revealed by the President of Conference of the National Regional Directors of Education(CONRED) Alhaji Mohammed Haroon.

Head teachers across the country have been appealing to government to lift the embargo placed on public sector employment since according to them a shortage in teaching staff is hampering academic performance in schools.

Collation of vacancies Across basic and second cycle schools have been completed.

Funds were cleared from the Ministry of Finance and GES started Recruiting SHS teachers in April.

Once the Second Cycle recruitment are completed. Basic schools and Non Teaching Staff Recruitment will follow.

Currently There is no recruitment Ban on Education
