Who is an assessor and what do they do? The task of an assessor is to investigate damage suffered by the clients of the insurance company, and to work out proposals for compensating them.
What are the activities of an assessor? These include – receiving and processing reports on damages, compensation claims and related documents – visiting sites of events insured against – evaluating whether the conditions of an insurance contract have been met – determining the scope of damages – overseeing the whole process of the claim including the determination of the amount of compensation for damages based on conditions set out in the insurance contract and other relevant rules – – keeping records of events insured against – preparing support documents for paying the clients damages – advising clients or potential clients.
Where is it done and under what conditions? The job is done in a wide range of places, from households to factory buildings, office space, agricultural facilities, usually without any major problems in the work environment.
What tools/equipment do an assessor use? These include the appropriate tables and norms, computer technology, the spoken word.
