College of Science Holds 1ST Graduation Ceremony for Laboratory Technicians

Lab Technicians Graduation

The College of Science of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has graduated a total of twenty (20) laboratory technicians who undertook the Laboratory Technician’s Training Programme at the College. The Laboratory Technician’s Training Programme, designed in October, 2011 has the objective of building capacity for senior staff.

Abdul Rashid Muhammed, Obtained distinction while Acheampong Eric, Addo Yaw James, Adongo Godwin, Amoah Emmanuel, Amonoo-Parker Benjamin, Amponsah-Fordjour Georgina (Mrs), Ayeetey Adama Agon Eric, Ayuune Micheal, Biney Brenda (Mrs), Daniels Kofi Isaac, Darteh Thomas, Effah Yaw, Gyapong Benjamin, Kakraba Kwadwo, Kornyoh Christopher, Kusi Kwasu Gabriel, Osei Akoto Isaac, Osman Jeff and Voure Ben Goffrey obtained pass marks.

Prof Ellis Lab TechsProfessor William Otoo Ellis, the Vice-Chancellor, observed at the ceremony that the University hoped to expand the Laboratory Technician’s Training programme for more technicians to benefit from it. He added that there was the intention to move a step further to upgrade the programme to the diploma level and consequently establish a degree programme to attract candidates from other institutions nationwide.

Prof Ellis charged the graduands to use the knowledge and skills acquired to bring change to how work was done in the University’s laboratories to enhance teaching and research.
