Rebecca Akufo Addo Ladies Speech Rebecca Akufo-Addo

Wife of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo has accused the Mahama-led government of misusing oil revenue.

According to her, the profligate expenditure of government appointees and members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is enough prove that they have tampered with the oil funds.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo’s comment has corroborated a similar allegation made by the Minority in Parliament also accused government.

They claimed the Mahama-led government has dipped its hands into the country’s Petroleum Stabilisation Fund, creaming off $177 million.

Stabilisation Fund refers to a mechanism set up by a government or the Central Bank to insulate the domestic economy from large influxes of revenue, as from commodities such as oil, for the maintenance of a steady level of government revenue.

Addressing a congregation of the Amanfro Central Pentecost church in the Central region, Mrs. Akufo-Addo said the government cannot be trusted with any state funds.

She cited the crippling economy and the unbearable hardships as clear examples of mismanagement under the Mahama-led government.

Another term for President Mahama and the NDC, Mrs. Akufo-Addo said will lead Ghana into the abyss.

The only alternative she noted is for Ghanaians to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP to salvage Ghana from total collapse.
