President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi has called on Ghanaians to forgive Sulley Ali Muntari after the GFA confirmed receipt of his apology letter.

The Al Ittihad player apologised for his actions at the 2014 World Cup, two years after the incident led to his dismissal from the Black Stars and disgraced the country.

GFA Boss Nyantakyi claims there are no time limit on Muntari’s apology and believe the 31-year-old should be forgiven.

“He says he is sorry and pleading for forgiveness from all Ghanaians, and I don’t think there is a time limit on seeking for forgiveness, this is the best time for him, and he has done so”.

“I will call on Ghanaians to forgive him as he has requested because as humans, we all are capable of going wrong,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

The executive committee of the Ghana Football Association is yet to sit and deliberate on the need to grant Muntari a return to the Black Stars.
