Is it safe to visit South Africa?
Where are the safe places to travel in South Africa?any places to avoid?
South Africa is an amazing place to visit. With so much to offer, there is something for everyone to do! From Cape Town with its amazing cosmopolitan vibe, The Cape Point, Winelands, and Hermanus – best land based whale watching – to the Garden Route with is spectacular scenery – to the KwaZulu Natal coast with its endless white sandy beaches and warm Indian Ocean, to Zululand packed with local culture and history to the Kruger National Park with its awe inspiring wildlife and the “Big Five” and endless other places of spectacular beauty…..
Yes, it does have a reputation of being unsafe, but if you treat it like any other country you explore, and you take care of yourself, don’t flash lots of cash, keep your valuables locked away and always stay in the main tourist areas you should have no problems.
South Africa does have a large poor community and tourism is one of the main sources of revenue for the country. You may be hassled by beggars and street side hawkers, but generally if you say no they leave you alone.
Once you are there, I know that you will have an amazing time!
