England youth striker Joe Dodoo has joined the Ghana training camp in Accra despite concerns over the Leicester City attacker’s eligibility to play for the Black Stars, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 18-year-old’s decision to turn up for the Ghana training is a clear indication that he has decided to snub the England national team and play for his country of birth.

The prolific young attacker, who played for the England youth side, was invited for Ghana’s friendly against Guinea, which was cancelled.

But issues of nationality switch meant Avram Grant had to revise his books and omit him from his squad to play Mauritius on Sunday.

He, however, reported to training as the Black Stars prepare for their AFCON 2017 qualifier against Mauritius.

The Kumasi-born Dodoo arrived in Ghana this morning and has quickly settled into his new environment.

His quickly mingled with the players and showed no signs of a new player as he joked with the others and trained effectively.

The presence of Jeff Schlupp and Daniel Amartey in the Ghana squad also made his settling in the team easy.

Ghana will seal qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Gabon if they avoid defeat against Mauritius on Sunday.
