Asante Kotoko were held to a 1-1 pulsating draw by Techiman city in the first match of the second round of this season Ghana Premier league on Sunday.

Kotoko were hoping to win the game to improve their standing on the league log, however, following the draw, the Porcupines remain unchanged, occupying the third position.

It was a very competitive game with both sides giving their all to win full spoils. Stephen Manu’s first half strike cancelled out by Amos Frimpong of Kotoko.

Yussif Hussein and Theophilus Nyame of Techiman and Kotoko respectively were rushed to the hospital after a collision in the second department.

Techiman city took the lead through former Kotoko striker Stephen Manu. The tall lanky player coolly converted a penalty in the 26th minute after he was fouled in the box.

But Kotoko fought hard and were rewarded with the equaliser ten minutes after recess when captain Amos Frimpong headed home a corner kick.

The Porcupines looked the threatening side to fetch the equaliser in the dying embers, bombarding the home team with series of attacks but the Techiman were equal to the task.
