Former Black Stars goalkeeper, Richard Kingson says he cannot wait to be in the colours of the Porcupine Warriors.

News recently broke that Kotoko was planning to get on board the experienced goalkeeper for the 2016/17 season to solidify their goalkeeping department.

In an exclusive interview with Kasapa Sports on Thursday, Richard ‘Olele’ Kingson said he has never hidden the fact that he will want to retire officially in the Kotoko jersey.

According to him, it has always been his dream to play for Kotoko, and he has been waiting for the green light from the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko for them to officially seal the deal.

I have said time and time without number that I will want to end my career by playing for Kotoko. I have always had this dream of playing for Kotoko, and I can say Kotoko has been in my heart for a long time. I started dreaming about Kotoko not today, and I can say I had this feeling as far back as 1995 during my first stint with Accra Great Olympics. I have played for a lot of teams across the globe but I believe playing for Kotoko will make my career complete. I have always been ready for Kotoko and waiting for the Kotoko officials to give me the opportunity.

He also rejected the assertion that he is too old and cannot offer Kumasi Asante Kotoko anything.

I know a lot of people hold this opinion but I know myself very well, and I know what I am capable of. I believe if I am given the opportunity I can give a lot to the Porcupine family. Apart from my core responsibility as a goalkeeper, I will also help the young ones by teaching them what I have learnt from my years in the game both locally and internationally.
