GCPP Leader Henry Lartey Dr. Henry Lartey – GCPP

Presidential candidate of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Dr. Henry Lartey says he will fix the current energy crisis facing the nation by relying on solar energy.

According to him, the party had already completed a comprehensive research into how it will roll out this form of power to resolve the long-standing crisis that has collapsed many businesses.

Dr. Henry Lartey said Ghana must promote a policy of solar homes and energy efficient communities so that citizens use renewable energy to create more jobs for over 2 million young people.

Ghana, he stressed, would become the hub of solar energy and export the commodity so we generate more revenue for the country.

The presidential candidate who was on a tour of the Greater Accra added, Ghana’s economy can be transformed with the exportation of solar energy.

He maintained his party would construct an ultra-modern facility where young people will be trained in that regard.

On agriculture, he said the GCPP has an unparalleled history as their founder and the late Dr. Dan Lartey was the major architect behind ‘Operation Feed Yourself’ in the 1970’s which assisted our people during a desperate time of need.

A GCPP government he explained will work closely with stakeholders including the poorest farmers,

“We have to make new decisions regarding what varieties of foods we need when to harvest, how long to store foods, what markets to export to internationally, and how best to consume our produce domestically,” he said.

Agriculture and energy he emphasised can help transform the economy if the needed attention is given it.
