Tamale college turns away over 400 applicants over infrastructure deficit

More than four-hundred qualified applicants have been turned down by the Tamale College of Education due to lack of infrastructure.

This was revealed by the principal of the college at the 4th congregation of the college in Tamale in the Northern Region on Saturday.

Dr. Sumalema Iddrisu indicated that the college received about 1,547 applications with 929 duly qualified for admission but the college had to admit only 529.

Dr. Iddrisu called on government to fast-track the construction of physical infrastructure to enable the college increase intake in the coming years.

The Representative of the Education Minister at the congregation, Nii Adotey Abraham on his part, assured the college of government’s commitment to improving the infrastructure of colleges across the country.
