The management of the national service scheme in a statement signed by the Acting Executive Director Dr. Kpassa-Whyte says that the first batch of national service placement has been released. A total of 53,604 service personnel are released by the secretariat into different sectors of the economy for the 2015/2016 service year.
According to the Acting Executive Director Dr. Kpassa-Whyte, the early release of the postings is as a result of the ongoing reforms within the national service secretariat in their quest to position the scheme well to serve the needs of the people better. He added that the release will help the over 50,000 service personnel to better prepare and start their mandatory service to the nation in September in the various communities they are posted to.
Dr. Kpassa-Whyte emphasized that the management will not encourage change of postings and therefore urged all prospective national service personnel to be prepared to accept their placements as part of their contribution towards building a prosperous nation.
